Dental prostheses

We apply dental prostheses to partially or completely replace missing teeth. Dental prostheses at Astra Dent are used not only to maintain the aesthetics of your smile, but also to maintain proper jaw function. Missing teeth can cause shifting and excessive stress on the remaining teeth or cause difficulty chewing.

We always put the health of our patients first, so we offer a wide range of restorations and prostheses: dental crowns, bridges, veneers, implants, removable dentures, skeletal, acrylic, nylon and acetate dentures. They are individually tailored to the needs of each of our patients.

What types of dental prostheses do we offer our patients?

Modern dental prostheses at Astra Dent Warsaw are comfortable, aesthetic, invisible and, above all, individually created. We carefully analyze the medical history of each of our patients to select the right restoration or prosthesis. Prostheses are made of different materials, and we divide them into fixed and removable ones.

Fixed dental prostheses that we offer our patients are installed by a dentist, and only a dentist can “remove” them. They include:

• dental crowns are prostheses that replace defects in one tooth,
• bridges — can be used for several dental cavities, but must be installed on healthy natural teeth
• veneers — used to strengthen and improve the appearance of teeth and dentition, but are fixed on the patient’s teeth
• implants are an extremely strong type of prosthesis because their base is fixed directly into the bone. They can replace any number of teeth.

Removable prostheses can usually be removed freely by the patient. The following types of removable dental prostheses are available at Astra Dent:

• Acrylic — can be an almost complete replacement of the dentition — only three healthy teeth are required for their fixation. They are extremely durable and also inexpensive. They restore facial features, although they can be a little noticeable. Acrylic dentures are a good option for any budget, but nowadays patients are more likely to choose other types of dental restoration.
• Skeletal — are created on a metal or ceramic frame, and their design makes chewing much easier than in the case of acrylic dentures. In addition, the denture plate can be smaller than that of acrylic dentures, which further increases patient comfort.
• Nylon prostheses — these types are made of a thermoplastic and flexible material, they are lightweight and almost invisible — just like acrylic ones. An additional advantage is that they can be fixed even on one tooth.
• Acetal — their design is very similar to skeletal dentures, and the material is very flexible and durable. They can be made in a color that perfectly matches the retained teeth, making them invisible. They are very comfortable and perfectly distribute the load in the jaw.

Removable dentures are dentures that combine fixed and removable designs. You can decide which missing teeth to replace, for example, with an implant, and use a removable denture in another area, for example, in the back of the mouth. This has a very favorable effect on the comfort of use, as well as on the aesthetics of the smile. Thanks to this solution, we can also perfectly distribute the load on the jaw.

Before our patients make a final decision on the choice of prosthetics, we conduct the necessary examinations. At Astra Dent, we take a comprehensive approach to treatment, so we also offer our patients the most advanced diagnostic tools, such as a computed tomography scanner, X-ray, and dental microscope.
