The change in the color of the teeth is caused by various factors: drinking coffee, tea, smoking, genetic characteristics. There are many ways to prevent or slow down this process. However, home remedies are not effective enough, and their effect is not always satisfactory.

The solution to the problem is professional teeth whitening. The modern methods we use at Astra Dent are extremely effective and, moreover, have a positive effect on tooth enamel. Although whitening is not a mandatory procedure, it definitely increases self-confidence. However, this is not the only advantage. This procedure can facilitate oral hygiene care, as well as strengthen the patient’s enamel.

Methods of professional teeth whitening at AstraDent

Currently, the Beyond system is the most popular teeth whitening method. The procedure is extremely simple and takes only one hour. A special gel is applied to the teeth, and then the teeth are irradiated with the Beyond lamp. During the procedure, the pigment is oxidized. This method is completely safe, and the effect lasts for more than 2 years.

Another popular and effective method that we offer to our patients is teeth whitening using a diode laser. The procedure is practically no different from the Beyond method. An additional advantage of laser teeth whitening is that the whitening can be spot-on. During the treatment, we have the opportunity to adjust the degree of irradiation according to the size and intensity of the color change. The effect lasts up to 3 years.

At Astra Dent, we also offer a more traditional method — teeth whitening using mouthguards made on the basis of an impression of the patient’s jaw. We perform them on site, individually for each patient. This is a treatment that the patient carries out partially on his own, so it is extremely important for us to discuss the entire procedure in detail.

Our patients receive special pads and a drug that is injected into the pads immediately before they are applied. Pads should be worn every day for about 4 hours — the time is determined individually. Treatment lasts from 2 to 4 weeks. We constantly maintain contact with our patients, and at the end of the treatment, a control visit is conducted.

The effect of whitening by the application method lasts from 2 to 3 years.

Before choosing a whitening method, it is necessary to perform oral hygiene, as well as cure caries or other diseases and seal carious cavities. After all, the dream Hollywood smile is more than just white, shiny teeth!

To consolidate the effect, we recommend our patients to follow the so-called “white diet” after the teeth whitening procedure. There is nothing complicated about it. It only excludes foods and drinks that can stain enamel, such as red wine, coffee, tea, red fruits and vegetables, citrus fruits, sauces, sugary and carbonated drinks. Chewing gum should also be avoided.
